CPA Certification Process
Applications for certification are reviewed in the order by which they are received. Our office will send you an e-mail notifying you of any missing documents or informing you of your certification date. Our office issues CPA certificates on the 15th of each month except for the month of December. A letter will be sent explaining your first two-year reporting period, CPE requirements, and will include a tear-off portion to remit for the two-year Ohio permit (license to practice public accounting) or two-year Ohio registration (inactive license). A Wall Certificate application will also be included. You may remit one check for the permit or registration fee and the wall certificate fee. Please make the check payable to: Treasurer, State of Ohio.
Wall certificates are signed at the Accountancy Board meetings. Please refer to the Board meetings page for meeting dates. You may not send in the Wall Certificate Application Form with the fee of $15.00 until you have been certified and remitted the fee for the two-year practicing permit or two-year registration to our office.
