Please select one of the search possibilities below. All certified public accountants and public accountants should hold a valid license. CPAs and PAs holding the Ohio registration must use the disclaimer "Inactive" after the CPA or PA designation.

Licensee Search (CPA or PA)

To find a licensee, select "Accountancy Board" under the heading "Division" and enter the search criteria. Enter the last and first names, and select the "Search" option to find licensees that match your selection criteria. You may also enter "CPA" or "PA" and the license number in the first two boxes marked "License Number" if you know the licensee's CPA certificate or PA registration number. Once you receive the search results, you may select the license number to obtain the original license issue date and the license expiration date.

Public Accounting Firm Search

To find a public accounting firm, select "Accountancy Board" under the heading "Division" and enter the search criteria. Enter the first few letters of the firm name on the line "Business Name/DBA," select "Ohio" as the state, and select the "Search" option. Firms with a FIRM prefix and a suffix (PR=Peer review; TC=Tax or consulting firm) are registered with the Board. All other Ohio firm offices will have an EMPL prefix. All firms that practice public accounting must register with the Board, in accordance with section 4701.04 of the Ohio Revised Code. Once you receive the search results, you may select the license number to obtain the public accounting firm's license expiration date.

Continuing Education Sponsor Search

To find a continuing education sponsor registered since July 1, 2006, select "Accountancy Board" under the heading "Division." Select "CPE Sponsor" under the heading "Profession/Institution." Enter the first few letters of the firm name on the line "Business Name/DBA," and select the "Search" option.
