BOARD-APPROVED SPONSORS OF PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The new 3-credit professional standards and responsibilities CPE requirement became effective for licensees renewing the Ohio permit in 2004 and later years. Consult the Professional Standards and Responsilibities FAQ for additional information. This course covers mostly Ohio statutory requirements, and it is different from most courses in professional ethics. Courses covering the new Board requirement are currently offered by several CPE providers, and links to these courses may be found at the left. The course is listed in parentheses if there is no direct link on the sponsor website to the Ohio course.

Following are professional standards and responsibilities course instructors that have submitted documentation to the Board:

  • Jerry Esselstein
  • Paul Fiorelli
  • Steve Martin
  • Norman Meonske

For general ethics questions, answers may be found on the General Ethics FAQ page and the Ethics Laws and Rules page.

The Accountancy Board of Ohio is charged with enforcing the professional standards. Included for your reference are the Board Investigation Procedures, Complaint Filing Procedures, and Board Disciplinary Actions. We adapted a page from the Oregon Board of Accountancy called "Ten Ways to Mess Up Your License."
