A licensee who holds an Ohio registration,
and wishes to obtain the Ohio permit, must complete a total
of 120 hours continuing education credit in the three years
preceding application for the Ohio permit. The licensee
must submit to the Board documentation of the continuing
education earned on a CPE Report Form (PDF).
Examples of appropriate documentation include certificates
of completion,
grade reports or transcripts,
and other similar evidence.
A licensee who obtains the Ohio permit by
reentry will need to report 120 continuing education credits
for the three-year
reporting period ending December 31 of the licensee's renewal
year. This may mean that some or all of the continuing education
earned to fulfill the licensee's reeentry requirement will
also fulfill the licensee's regular continuing education requirement.
No continuing education is required to change one's license status from Ohio permit to Ohio registration.
